Exactly 60 years apart, history repeats itself.
The picture below, is of Bill Yale winning at Heaton Park, almost 60 years ago to the day. Bill was some athlete in his day, running sub 50 minutes for ten miles, and being a part of a Bolton United Harriers Team boasting Ron Hill, Mike Freary, Eric Haslam and a then youngster, Steve Kenyon.
Now take a look at the picture featured in the post. It shows the talented race winner of yesterdays Senior Ladies race, Louisa Whittingham. Just to her right and supporting her every step of the way, is one very proud grandfather…The very same Bill Yale!!
And just to round the story off, Louisa is the daughter of Andrew Whittingham of Wilmslow Running Club…Also the owner of Run North West…Sponsors of the MACCL!
