We have received a report of a senior runner knowingly taking clear and obvious short cuts at certain parts of the course, and not taking the marked route. This is very different to genuine error.
Had this been reported to us on the day and immediately after the race, we would have carried out an investigation, and based on the findings, and in conjunction with our “Race Referee”, would most likely have disqualified the runner.
We are blessed with a fantastic group of teams, who collectively help to make the Match Day so special. There is no room for breaching the rules and not running in the true spirit of our great sport.
