An item under AOB at The League AGM by Neal Wainright on behalf of Chorlton Runners, was for the equalising of distance in the Senior Womens and Senior Mens races.
As a result of The League Working Group contacting all of the 45 affiliated clubs and based on the returns from the 35 received (78% of the 45 polled), there is no two thirds majority for increasing the women’s distance.
The result shows that there is not sufficient appetite within the clubs to make any change to the current distances used by the league.
The LWG have thus decided to close this item of AOB and do not propose to review for three seasons unless UKA (in accordance with 3.11 of the MACCL Constitution) mandate change across all affiliated Leagues.
The three seasons being 2020/21…2021/22…2022/23. If for any reason the 2020/21 season is null and void due to Covid-19, this will then extend to 2023/24.
All Clubs have been contacted today and Team Managers have a copy of the full report compiled by the League Working Party.
