Thank you all for your support for our end of season “Presentation Evening…201 attendees! Wow!
Sadly, our latest collage to celebrate the season was incorrectly prepared by the printer, but you can view it in the picture at the head of the article.
Such a special time for the Juniors…the noise as they all were called to receive their medals and trophies. Special moments! Please do keep spreading the word, as we want the same noise from the seniors!
Junior prizes were presented by Carol Brown, our Race Referee and a member of Sale Harriers. Senior Prizes were presented by Dave Norman of Altrincham AC and a former winner of the Senior Mens race series!
We had the “Runners Podcast” deliver a live podcast, including an interview with this Senior Mens Winner, “Aaron Doyle”…very well received!
As part of the Presentation, we ask Clubs to nominate someone from within their Club, and who goes the extra mile to make XC happen within their Club. Nominations this year were, Brian Goulden of Sale Harriers, Robert White of Buxton AC, Sue Exon of Trafford AC, Anne Carney of Chorlton Runners, Dave Spencer of Warrington AC, & Iain Murdoch of Stockport Harriers. Congratulations to all!
The winner was Sue Exon! Congratulations, and the winner of a £100 RNW Voucher.
Steve Shaughnessy of Stockport Harriers very kindly donates bottles of champagne to The League each year as a thank you to those that help to make the MACCL happen. Recipients this year were Val Brennan, Ruth Bardsley, Pete Budd & Neal Wainright of The League working party. Two additional bottles were given to both Dave Rodgers & Brian Goulden of Sale Harriers…long standing supporters of The League, and responsible for our matches at Tatton Park, and Wythenshawe Park.
The biggest cheer of the night was reserved for Trevor Faulkner of Wilmslow RC…Presented with a trophy as the first V80 winner of The League!
